As parents we all know how hard it is when our kids don’t sleep enough. Or for that matter when we don’t sleep enough. And that often correlates, doesn’t it. Family life is so much more fun and nourishing when we all get our sleep. When our babies are new born and feed at night, it is part of the routine to get up at night, but at the time they reach toddlerhood or preferably even before we prefer to sleep the night through ourselves – if we are not already feeding their younger siblings at night….
As a mother of two I used to be quite nerdy about my kids’ sleep and coordinated their naps so that I could rest or even sleep my self during the day. My best advice for new mothers – leave the mess and sleep!

Harder to sleep during the pandemic
During the pandemic more children have found it harder to sleep. They are kept awake by their worrying minds. I can’t wait to be able to share my book “The Monster Manual – for kids who worry too much” with you in English. It has worked miracles here in Denmark. Part of it has just been published in my latest book in English called “Heartlight“.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) estimates that 15% to 25% of kids and teens struggle to fall asleep or to stay asleep on a regular basis, and these issues may be even more pronounced now due to the pandemic.
